Rodrigo Ozorio is a marine biologist with over 20 years of experience on nutritional dynamics of fish. He holds a M.Sc degree (1995) and a Ph.D. degree (2001) in aquaculture research from Wageningen University and Research Centre (WUR), The Netherlands. He carried out a Post-Doctoral research at Sao Paulo University (Brazil) on Fish Nutrition.

He is currently a Senior researcher at the Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR), and Affiliate Professor of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar (ICBAS) of U. Porto, Portugal. He has devoted his scientific career for the sustainable aquaculture production and assessment studies and monitoring programs on ecosystems impact of the aquaculture practices. He had lead/participant position in 15 national and international projects to study finfish and mollusk nutrient metabolism using several marine and estuarine species as animal models, with overall budget of 2 million euros. He has over 73 publications in international peer review journals, and he is involved in developing training and briefing material for the research group, interpreting performance data and translate this into practical improvements.
