Nenu2phar project: Micro-algae for biodegradables bioplastics.

NENU2PHAR project is a 5 years project financed by the H2020 European programme that is aimed to develop a viable alternative to existing petrochemical-based plastics that is sustainable and biodegradable.
The project brings together 17 partners (5 large industrials, 6 SMEs, 5 RTOs and 1 cluster) leaders in the different fields of research, from biomass development to formulation of biopolymer up to plastic processes. One of the resources highlighted in the project is to use micro-algae to creates bridgeable plastics.

Webinar: Sostenibilidad en el sector pesquero y acuícola

ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, junto al Instituto para el Crecimiento Sostenible de la Empresa (ICSEM), organiza el Ciclo de Jornadas “Internacionalización y Desarrollo Sostenible, una aproximación sectorial” que se inició el pasado 28 de enero de 2021 con una jornada introductoria sobre crecimiento económico sostenible.

De las seis jornadas que se organizarán, esta primera tratará la Sostenibilidad en el Sector de la Pesca y Acuícola. Pretendemos que sea un punto de encuentro tanto del mundo empresarial como académico, dónde se ponga en valor las ventajas competitivas en materia de Sostenibilidad de cara al contexto internacional y compartan expectativas y retos en relación con la Internacionalización Sostenible, de modo que sirva como plataforma de proyección de las mejores prácticas en estos dos sectores.

Nanoparticles in aquaculture webinars 16th and 18th February

“Nanoparticles in aquaculture: should we be concerned?” webinars will take place on the 16th and 18th of February as part of NANOCULTURE project. We emphasize that the session on February 18th will be presented in Portuguese, with the contribution of Dr. Begoña Espiña, Leader of the Water Quality Research Group at the Iberian International Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL, Braga) and general coordinator of the NANOCULTURE project, and Dr. Alexandre Campos, Researcher at the Blue Biotechnology and Ecotoxicology Group at the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research at the University of Porto (CIIMAR / UP). On that day we will also count with the participation of Dr. Narcisa Bandarra, from the Aquaculture, Valorization and Bioprospecting Division from Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera, IPMA (guest speaker). RESEARCHERS SHOW DISADVANTAGES IN USING GLYCEROL IN FISH DIETS

CIIMAR Researchers found that dietary glycerol inclusion decreases growth performance and nitrogen retention efficiency in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). 

 

The study now published in Aquaculture , shows that despite increasing feed intake, dietary glycerol inclusion levels have negative effects on growth performance, rising the nitrogen excretion. In addition, dietary refined glycerol does not spare the use of proteins as a metabolic fuel, suggesting that this compound is not effectively used as an energy source.

Necesidades Formativas del Sector Acuícola en Andalucía

Access2Sea es un Proyecto de Cooperación Transnacional de la Región Atlántica, co-financiado por FEDER a través del Programa Interreg Area Atlántica en un 75%, liderado por CEEI Bahía de Cádiz y que cuenta con la participación de CTAQUA como socio beneficiario y ASEMA como socio asociado en la provincia de Cádiz, además de otras 10 entidades, entre las que se encuentran centros de investigación, agencias de desarrollo y centros de apoyo empresarial, a nivel europeo.

El Proyecto tiene prevista la puesta en marcha de un Programa de Apoyo Empresarial para empresas del sector de la Acuicultura, que contempla la impartición de Acciones Formativas y Asesoramiento.
